Pharmacist, nutritionist, and cosmetic chemist, Ben Fuchs shared alternative health concepts, and offered tips on supplements and healthy changes to one's diet and lifestyle. Regarding connective tissue supplements like shark cartilage, glucosamine, bone broth, and hyaluronic acid, he suggested that the body interprets these as signals that something's broken, and this initiates healing, growth, and immune response. Butter, he noted, is a "nutritional motherlode," that is fuel for the digestive system, and is high in Vitamin K, selenium, and iodine.
For gall bladder problems, he recommended supporting the bile system with food enzymes, lecithin, EFAs, and the amino acid, taurine. If dealing with autoimmune disorders, Fuchs talked about fasting for two days, and afterward, keeping a food diary and making note of the body's reaction to different items that cause flare-ups or symptoms. Supplements like probiotics and selenium could also be helpful, he added.
