Dr. Joel Wallach addressed alternative health approaches, and the benefits of remedies and supplements that aid in the body's recovery from many diseases and ailments. The lowering of cholesterol and the corresponding statin drugs, which have been touted as the greatest health invention of the 20th and 21st century, "turns out to be the greatest killer," he declared, adding that low cholesterol is what causes Alzheimer's, as the connective tissue in the brain is greatly composed of cholesterol. When it comes to the problem of scoliosis (curvature of the spine), one of the techniques he's found to be helpful is to hang people upside down on inversion tables.

Wallach said he's had great success giving nutritional tips, such as going gluten-free, to help women combat infertility. In dealing with the neuromuscular/brain disease-- Lou Gehrig's, he recommended eating 8-10 eggs a day per 100 pounds of body weight to rebuild the myelin, the white matter of the brain. Pancreatitis, he stated, is due to the deficiency of a single nutrient (selenium), but he suggests people supplement with the 90 essential nutrients the body needs.
