Registered pharmacist, nutritionist and cosmetic chemist, Ben Fuchs shared alternative health concepts, and offered tips on supplements and healthy changes to one's diet and lifestyle. Sometimes we eat to satisfy "emotional vacancies," as with sugar products, but we can reach a more lasting sense of well being in healthier ways, he said, such as by achieving one's goals. It's important to pay attention to the digestion system, because malnutrition ensues when you can't absorb nutrients, he pointed out, adding that fasting can be helpful to give the body a break, and determine which foods are causing a problem.
High-blood pressure, he noted, can be helped by hot baths which reduce stress, and give the body a womb-like experience. He recommended eggs as a complete food (though some people have allergies to them) and poached or soft boiled, retain the most nutrients. "Bone broth is absolutely amazing for building things," he added, and it contains substances helpful for the immune system, and growth.
